If you aren't keeping up to date with Adobe Creative Cloud. Support is increasing but a lot is still done by the CPU. Just keep in mind not everything is GPU accelerated. If not the GTX 1060 3GB and GTX 1050 Ti should be an improvement over the i5-2500K. The GTX 1060 6GB generally did very well on the tests.

But they are focused on professional users working with hundreds of hours of footage. I added the Samsung 860 series since they weren't available when the articles were written.Īs for RAM they recommend 32GB for Premiere and 64GB for After Effects. But say you likely won't benefit from the increased performance. Puget Systems recommends the Samsung 850 Evo/Pro.
#ADOBE AFTER EFFECTS CC 2015 CPU UPDATE#
The 2017 update may have added more GPU support. I figure there must be another limiting factor. Given all the cards in the list do about the same as each other.

Here you can see the three supported effects and how they compare to the CPU. Both articles look to be performing the same tests with the same test files.Īfter Effects has a much smaller range of GPU accelerated effects. You have to compare two different sets of benchmarks to see how the CPU and GPU compare. Some tasks it can beat the top dual Xeon system, Some are around a 6900K and other are best done by the CPU. When rendering previews there is more range. There are others they support but those are the main ones. That is assuming a compatible codec like H.264 and h.265. The GTX 1060 6GB appears to hit the performance of an i7-6900K in export tasks. As Adobe has great CUDA support but bad OpenCL support. The 860 models are brand new so they may be hard to come by.Īs for a video card.
#ADOBE AFTER EFFECTS CC 2015 CPU PRO#
I'd get a Samsung 860/850 Pro for its high write endurance. A 500GB model I think is good for a comfortable amount of working space. What graphics card would you recommend and also what SSD ?ĭepends on how large your projects are and how often you are working on them.

Thanks velocityg4, I think my RAM is fine and it uses 50% of my CPU I think looking at it on task manager. I'd check RAM usage in Task Manager while running Premiere and After Effects during your normal workflow. An SSD can also increase performance for some tasks in Premiere.
#ADOBE AFTER EFFECTS CC 2015 CPU UPGRADE#
You could get a minor upgrade with a Core i7-2600k or 3770K. I'm not saying a specific model as it depends on what other upgrades you need.ĭepending on current RAM usage. A video card can greatly speed up some effects in After Effects, rendering in Premiere and Exporting in Premiere depending on the settings.
